Spacepac Gangways
Description
Carbis gangways, provided by Spacepac, offer safer and easier access to the tops of tank trucks and rail cars. Their heavy-duty design allows them to work in the most rigorous environments, providing a long service life. They are fully factory assembled for easy installation and can be modified to meet your specific needs.
Spacepac provides three types of gangways:
Folding Stair Type Gangway- the most versatile gangway accommodates height variations in most tank cars, tank trucks and hopper cars.
Flat Gangway Ramp Type Gangway- the most economical gangway is ideally suited to access uniform heights and types of transport equipment.
Telescoping Ramp Type Gangway- the telescopic gangway ramp is ideal when vehicle height is fairly uniform. Manually operated extension ramp allows for some deviation in vehicle spotting.
Features of the three types of gangways:
- Variations in width and length are available to meet your specific application.
- Padded lower edge helps prevent vehicle damage.
- Open serrated slip-resistant walk surface maximizes footing in all climates.
- Requires little maintenance and is repairable in the field.
- Can be mounted to operate as a fixed, pivoting, or track mounted gangway.
- Optional self-leveling SAF-T Cages, designed specifically for vehicle type, help improve safety.

Covered Hopper $125.85 A Covered Hopper is a railroad freight car. They are designed for carrying dry bulk loads, varying from grain to products such as sand and clay. The cover protects the loads from the weather dried cement would be very hard to unload if mixed with water in transit, while grain would be liable to rot if exposed to rain. However, they are unsuitable for perishables such as fruit or meat these are transported in Refrigerator car, where they can be kept at low temperatures as well. Similar to an open hopper car, Covered Hoppers tend to contain 2, 3 or 4 separated bays. Each of these can be loaded and emptied individually, with access at the top to load the materials and visible chutes at the bottom for unloading. Atlas Model ATM11289 Ho Trmn Ps2 Cov Hopper Clinchfield $21.92 Covered hoppers are a relatively new car family. The AAR considered these "special" cars until the 1980's when they finally got their own car type code category. These early covered hopper designs were built primarily for more efficient cement loading and unloading (previously cement was bagged and placed in box cars). This two-bay covered hopper car design was built by Pullman-Standard starting in the late 1940s with production continuing into the 1950s. This car features eight round roof hatches for quick loading. Two large gravity gates were used to discharge the commodity as quickly as possible. Capacity is rated at 2,003 cubic foot. 50-ton friction bearing or 70-ton roller bearing trucks (as appropriate by road name). Detailed brake gear. Accumate couplers.
