I have Tanknanny to thank for making my life easier in at least two ways:

• First: I always had to go with my husband to get the tank filled.  My job was to keep the tank from rolling around on the floor of the car.  A really great job...if you like getting grime and rust all over you.  Now, we just wipe off the tank, drop it into the Tanknanny, and Hubby can take it to be filled all by himself.

• Second: Since Hubby doesn't have to listen to me griping all the way to get the tank filled, he doesn't mind going to get it filled any more.  I think the ease of use of the Tanknanny has more to do with that, though.  Also, we're using the grill more.   This means I have to spend less time in the kitchen and can spend more time enjoying the patio while our meals are on the grill.

Propane Tank Hazards
I really could see why he wanted me to go with him to get the tank filled.  The thought of an unsecured twenty pound tank filled with highly flammable propane bouncing around the car is scary, especially if he had to brake quickly or was involved in an accident.  Besides that, it's against Federal law to transport any unsecured propane tank.

Tanknanny Stability
We ran out of propane last week, so guess who had to take the tank to be filled all by herself?  I watched Hubby put the tank in the Tanknanny on the floor in front of the passengers side front seat. All he did was slide the seat back, put the Tanknanny on the floor, dropped the tank in and I was set to go.  It's supposed to be stable up to 30-35 mph, but I put a towel on top of the tank just in case it shifted (which it didn't).  I've also seen him put the Tanknanny on the passenger's front seat, use the seat belt to secure it through the side slot, and drop the tank in.  Either way...for the cost of about $28 (with shipping), the Tanknanny takes the worry out of propane tank transportation.

So, as long as he puts the tank in the car for me and takes it out when he gets home from work, I don't mind getting it filled.  I mean, it's a whole lot easier than standing over the stove.
