Uttarakhand plywood sector set to scale higher growth
After witnessing a demand fall for more than a year now, the plywood industry in Uttarakhand is once again witnessing steady growth in business volumes. Small-scale units in the sector, which were facing tough times due to sluggish sales and poor margins, are now expecting to bounce back with good revenue earnings in the ensuing quarters.
Resurging demand in the domestic market buoyed by the pick-up in the realty market and the growing positive sentiment have brought back cheer to the Uttarakhand SMEs, engaged in the plywood industry. Furthermore, the positive trading outlook has made the sector hopeful of witnessing higher growth in the coming days.
Robust growth ahead
Uttarakhand plywood units, which witnessed demand contract by 40-50% on account of the global economic recession, are once again expecting their business to surge, both in the terms of value and volume in the wake of recovery signs witnessed in the real estate sector.
“Sales in the Uttarakhand plywood sector plummeted severely last year and things continued to remain poor even during the first half of the current financial year due to limited consumer spending in the domestic market. However, things have begun to look up now,” said Ashish Jain, proprietor of Deluxe Plywood, a small-sized plywood store in Nainital.
The growing demand has led the Uttarakhand Plywood Manufacturing Association (UPMA) to believe that the sector will grow 25% this year, as compared to last year.
“The improvement in the market has made small-scale plywood manufacturers and exporters in Uttarakhand hopeful of witnessing better growth in the market in the coming months. This, in turn, has also prompted some of them to increase capacity and resume their growth plans,” said Pritam Kumar, owner of TK Plywood, a small-sized plywood store in Almora.
The SME plywood units in Uttarakhand have also sought extension of government support in the form of incentives, tax breaks and extension of greater facilities to farmers to encourage the growth of eucalyptus and other trees that can be used in the plywood industry.

Synthesizing Data from Electrical Logging $106.74 As global economic competition and cooperation become more and more drastic, the electricity demand and price for all the countries increase. Energy saving for enterprises facilities becomes more important than ever before, especially for small and medium facilities. Energy evaluation technology had been significantly advancing in the past years, but due to some constraints to the small and medium scale industries, their energy consumption evaluation remains unknown to much of the industries today. The work being proposed here would be to create a computer software program to allow the data from data loggers to be more implemented and operated properly based on the information provided by the data loggers. The software would allow the user to observe electric consumption that would be available upon the data downloaded from the data loggers. This book outlines how data in the data loggers is being used to report all the electric consumption information. Voice Logging $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Voice logging or telephone recording, is the practice of regularly recording audio, usually in a business situation. Most commonly telephone lines or business radio channels are recorded. This allows businesses to keep records, improve customer service, increase security, and decrease errors. Although Voice logging is synonymous with telephone recording, or phone recording, it includes also recording the radio and VoIP conversations. In a call center environment it is often called agent monitoring or call logging The word logging comes from the log of calls or audio files that is generated as each recording is made. The original voice logging system was a large analog tape recorder, developed by Magnasync in 1950. In 1953 Magnasync Corporation sold 300 voice loggers to the U.S. Air Force. In the 1980s the first digital voice logging systems were developed and shrank to the size of a large PC. The original computerized systems were designed and manufactured by Eventide, Eyretel and Dictaphone. In 1996 Mercom Systems, which was purchased by Verint in July 2006, introduced Audiolog the first Windowsbased voice logging system. Illegal Logging $58.5 'This book carefully blends conceptual insights with extensive empirical evidence to navigate the reader through an issue that is still poorly understood… [and is] a valuable reference for the development practitioner to understand the fundamental causes of illegal logging its myriad consequences and the policy choices available to address the problem' Nalin Kishor Forest Law Enforcement and Governance Coordinator The World Bank 'An excellent resource for those working to conserve and sustainably manage forests worldwide. It offers an extensive and comprehensive study of illegal logging bringing together the knowledge and views of experts who examine its roots and social economic and environmental implications. One of its important contributions is to show that unless coupled with reform of forestry regulations to take into account local people law enforcement to curb illegal logging can negatively impact them. Therefore any effective and fair approach to the problem needs to involve governments forestry operators and local communities alike' Gonzalo Oviedo Senior Social Policy Advisor IUCN In many countries illegal logging now accounts for a large share of the harvest. Once cut illegal logs feed an insatiable demand for exotic hardwoods in developed and developing countries. The result has been loss of both revenue and biodiversity and consequently the issue has risen to the top of the global forest policy agenda as one of the major threats to forests and donors and national governments are starting to develop initiatives to control illegal logging. Yet for such a massive illegal trade there is surprisingly limited knowledge available as to the major causes of illegal logging and its impacts on biodiversity people and livelihoods and national economies and thus plenty of speculation and action without evidence. It is clear that while illegal logging does have negative impacts it also controversially and perhaps paradoxically benefits many stakeholders including local communities. This book written by the world's foremost experts examines the key issues including law and enforcement supply and demand corruption forest certification poverty local livelihoods international trade and biodiversity conservation. It includes key case studies from forest-rich hotspots in North South and Central America equatorial Africa and Indonesia. While there are clearly no easy answers this book sorts fact from fiction and explores the many dimensions of the causes impacts and implications for forests people livelihoods and forest policy. |

Principles of Induction Logging $285 The monograph introduces the reader to the world of inductive well logging - an established method for surveying the electrical conductivity of rocks surrounding a borehole. The emphasis is on developing a theory of inductive logging and on understanding logging tools basic physics, since this theory and understanding furnish valuable insights for inventing practical induction logging techniques. The first chapter of the book presents the basic laws of electromagnetism from a point of view that will facilitate the application of the theory to problems in electromagnetic logging. Many topics that play an important role in the design and interpretation of tools readings are covered. The vertical resolution and radial depth of investigation of different induction tools is systematically considered. Special attention is paid to principles of induction logging with transversal induction coils, to transient method of induction logging in media with cylindrical and horizontal interfaces and to the influence of anisotropy on the electromagnetic field measured in a conducting medium. Multi-coil differential induction probes and induction logging based on measuring the inphase component of the secondary field or the quadrature component difference are also described in detail. The last chapter is devoted to mathematical modeling of the response of induction logging tools in 3D geometries. The theory of inductive logging presented in this volume can be applied to logging after drilling as well as logging while drilling. |
