Iso Containers What They Are?

Mostly used containers in cargo shipment are ISO containers.

The 'ISO' in ISO containers refers to the International Standards Organization, the group that sets the standard specs for ISO containers. Manufactured by following rules and regulations of the International Standards Organization (ISO), ISO containers are used for cargo shipment through various transportation methods like truck, rail, or ship. All ISO containers include a container safety certificate (CSC) issued by the manufacturer that must be renewed every 30 months by a certified examiner.

Types of ISO containers

ISO containers of DRY FREIGHT, FLAT RACK, OPEN TOP and REEFER types are mostly available in 20ft, 40ft and 45 ft sizes. They are also available in 24, 24, 44, 45, 46, 53 and 56 ft. The 40 ft (12 m) container is the most popular container around the world.

Uses of ISO containers

ISO containers are available in a variety of standard sizes and forms for different needs. Cube containers are loaded in the front and appropriate for general transportation. Thermal containers with protected walls are used for transporting frozen goods. Flat containers are used to transport heavy machinery and open-top containers for material that's hard to load. Suppliers can modify the configurations of these shipping and storage containers according to the customer's need. If necessary, an approved continuous examination program (ACEP) can be used in place of this system.

Features of ISO containers

ISO containers with tubes along the side panels and top and bottom rails are suitable for replacing heating, ventilating and air conditioning atmosphere. Radio frequency interference (RFI) is often used in the transportation. Substances that remove moisture for instance silica-gel are used in the transportation of high moisture products such as coffee beans or other foodstuffs.

Other uses of ISO containers

With the help of containers conversion services they can be used in offices, canteens, accommodation, chemical stores, changing rooms, equipment stores, tack rooms, stables, food preparation areas, clubhouses, artist studios, workshops and more ways. The ISO containers are also used for housing and other functional buildings for people, either as temporary housing or permanent. ISO Containers can also be used as sheds or storage areas in industry and commerce.

ISO Containers have been used to smuggle goods. Because of the innumerous use of containers the vast majority of containers are not possible to check. In recent years there have been increased concerns that containers might be used to transport terrorists or terrorist materials into a country.

These ISO containers are playing a significant role in movement of cargos across places and have a significant contribution in economy. They make cargo shipment easy and reliable.
