Water Management 2008 Exhibition and Conference

In the current scenario, the coordination of water resources, upgrade of utility networks, water management reform and conservation have become important goals for the economic well-being and growth in developing and developed economies.

India at present is the best exploitable market in the global scenario because of the economic reforms, relaxation of Government policies and the growing interest of the International key players of the Industry.

Rapid industrial growth and technological developments has been a constant boost to the industry but the rise in interest and use of environment friendly technologies has given rise to newer and advanced dimensions to the industry. Industries worldwide are looking for healthy and environment friendly solutions to water and wastewater problems.

The domestic big players and the multi-national companies are carrying on smooth business in India providing solutions to the most complex water crisis and problems and with the rapid rise in International interest, the future looks good. But the domestic and multinational big players only constitute 30% of the Indian Water industry. The rest is a vast sea of rookies in a disorganized form who undertake relatively smaller projects but together they pose a challenge to the more organized sector.

The Industry has grown in leaps and bounces, which could have been stimulated by the induct of proper international communication and a platform to showcase the products and services. Advertising has lost its charm in the sales-centric Indian water market and P.R. is ineffective in penetrating through. Marketing through exhibitions is the most effective tool used by the global market nowadays, but the lack of a proper business to business exhibition on water has slowed down the prospective growth.

Magazine publishers have come out of their shell to organize exhibitions but all they have managed is Space selling, as they do with the advertisements in magazines. Exhibitors from all over the world are invited to reach out to the relevant people but are presented with a couple of ‘so-called’ visitors from households. Visitors are calculated on the basis of footfalls in the exhibition which also cover the advertisers, house-keeping staff, security and relatives of organizers and exhibitors. The biggest losers are the medium to small size exhibitors who do not even recover a penny’s worth from these exhibitions. Other exhibitions in the related field (e.g. chemicals, environment, etc.) do not offer the much needed exposure required for the water industry.

This has led to the need of a proper B2B trade show on water that would focus on the technologies and services, where every exhibitor should get public focus and most importantly would bring in visitors from the relevant segments if the global industry. An exhibition where Large, medium and small size industry should receive focus and where both domestic and international companies would not feel left out is an urgent need to restrict and straighten the drooping curve of prospects.

Water Management 2008, Exhibition and Conference will act as the platform for the industries in the field of water to get a competitive edge on their competitors. With the event’s focus on new Technologies, equipment and innovative ideas, many Companies and Governmental officials hope to find solutions to major water issues facing today. With that in mind, the primary effort at this exhibition and conference will be technologies whose methods and practices operate in efficient and environmentally-friendly ways.

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Ras Lanuf Refinery is a topping and reforming oil refinery in the city of R s L n f, Libya. It is part of a larger petrochemical complex also consisting of an ethylene plant, a polyethylene plant, plant utilities, and Ras Lanuf Harbor. The complex is operated by the Ras Lanuf Oil Gas Processing Company (RASCO), a subsidiary of the National Oil Corporation. The Ras Lanuf Refinery became operational during 1984. In 2007, the decision to expand the refinery for the production of benzene, butadiene, and MTBE was made. For the refinery expansion, NOC concluded a 2 billion contract with the Star Consortium, a joint company of the Al Ghurair Investmentss subsidiary TransAsia Gas International and ETA Ascon Star Groups subsidiary Star Petro Energy, to establish a joint venture with Dow Chemical Company. When twenty-seven-year-old Jared Philips lands a job as an engineer at the Apex Oil Refinery in Texas, he looks forward to the adventure. After all, his father worked around refineries most of his life and passed the passion and the knowledge onto Jared. One of the country's largest oil refineries, Apex Oil is the company's flagship refinery. But it doesn't take Jared long to determine that not all is well in this competitive business environment. Top management is pressing the refinery to become more profitable. Downsizing, outsourcing, and neglected maintenance and improvement of the facilities are just some of the tactics employed to save money. Word is out that the plant isn't as well maintained as it has been in the past. These allegations worry Jared, who has the best interests of the industry at heart. But his misgivings are not taken seriously by upper management, and disaster strikes. Jared is plunged into the depths of the drama of human existence, and he experiences firsthand the power of both human pain and heroism.

Hydrogen Storage in Metal and Complex Hydrides

Hydrogen Storage in Metal and Complex Hydrides

$124.27

A promising alternative to hydrogen storage in high pressure cylinders and cryogenic tanks is the hydrogen storage in solid form as metal hydrides or complex metal hydrides. However, much research is still necessary in this direction. In particular, the optimal pressure and temperature of operation for the use of a hydridebased tank in a PEM fuel cellpowered vehicle should remain in the of 110 atm and 25120 C, respectively. The further difficulty is related to the weight of the storing materials, which is still too high for efficient mobile applications compared to the amount of stored hydrogen. The work reported in this book deals with systems belonging to several hydride classes such as complex hydrides, interstitial metal hydrides and magnesiumbased hydrides. Improvements from the point of view of thermodynamic and kinetic properties are proposed and discussed on systems almost ready for niche applications and on other very promising systems, but still far from hydrogen storage applications. The Refinery of the Future

The Refinery of the Future

As feedstocks to refineries change, there must be an accompanying change in refinery technology. This means a movement from conventional means of refining heavy feedstocks using (typically) coking technologies to more innovative processes that will coax the last drips of liquid fuels from the feedstock. This book presents the evolution of refinery processes during the last century and as well as the means by which refinery processes will evolve during the next three-to-five decades. Chapters contain material relevant to (1) comparisons of current feedstocks with heavy oil and bio-feedstocks; (2) evolution of refineries since the 1950s, (3) properties and refinability of heavy oil and bio-feedstocks, (4) thermal processes vs. hydroprocesses, and (5) evolution of products to match the environmental market. Process innovations that have influenced refinery processing over the past three decades are presented, as well as the relevant patents that have the potential for incorporation into future refineries. Comparison of current feedstocks with heavy oil and bio-feedstocks. Evolution of refineries over the past three decades. Properties and refinability of heavy oil and bio-feedstocks. Thermal processes vs. Hydroprocesses. Evolution of products to match the environmental market. * Investigates the engineering and plant design challenges presented by heavy oil and bio-feedstocks * Explores the legislatory and regulatory climate, including increasingly stringent environmental requirements * Examines the trade-offs of thermal processes vs. hydroprocesses
