The Most Regular Training Mistakes People Make
A lot of people know that going to the gym a couple of times a week and really pushing yourself while down there can have a great effect on your overall health and your mood levels. Furthermore, you will strengthen your immune system and will be less prone to be the target of chronic and dangerous diseases. However, a lot of people make a couple of crucial mistakes when wanting to start a new training program and whip their bodies into shape.
The first mistake people make is that they only train 1-2 times a week. Of course it can be a challenge to find the time to hit the gym 3-4 times a week, but by training only 1-2 times a week you have a very big chance at failing even before you even get started. By only doing this much training you will not gain momentum in the same way and it will still feel like a struggle for you to hit the gym as it doesn't become a proper part of your daily routine. Because of this, you won't get as many results and therefore your motivation levels will start falling and you will start feeling like you are wasting your time by hitting the gym.
The next mistake a lot of people make that sets them up for failure and keeps them from getting their bodies of their dreams is that they don't set the right goals. People either set really easy goals or they set goals that they have no idea in the world how they are going to reach. Both of these types of goals don't really do much for your motivation levels and you will quickly feel that it is easier to just quit. Instead you should have goals that are going to take a lot of work and dedication to reach, but at the same time seem possible if you stick to your training regimen and consistently hit the gym.
The last mistake people make is that they see the process of going to the gym and working out as work and something they are forced to do. Going to the gym and working out is something you should enjoy and really cherish. You are after all building a both stronger and healthier body while boosting your confidence levels because you look better than you have ever looked before.

From Train Set to Model Railway $22.67 This new book is aimed at all those who have started the hobby by buying a basic model railway kit and want to move from just laying the few pieces of track on the floor to starting to build a model railway themselves. Little has been written to help people wanting to construct a model railway by collecting components together rather than creating a detailed representation of a particular scene. As the ready-to-run market is now producing such high quality models there is little reason to spend hours crafting items such as coaches when all the proprietary models are so good, and more time can be spent planning and developing the layout. The chapters about track, signaling and buildings will all look at a prototype layout to explain why it is constructed as it is, and then explain how to copy this and lay out a model railway in a believable fashion. The author explains how proprietary items such as Peco track and Hornby buildings and platforms can be used and how their believability can be improved with repainting. The author is a railway modeler with many years experience and he explains the techniques of modeling at an appropriate level for the reader. |

The Train of Salt and Sugar $3.94 Moving and poignant, The Train of Salt and Sugar follows a train and its passengers on their harrowing and often violent journey-a journey of self-discovery, and of pain, hunger, death and love. Out of every conflict situation comes a myriad of stories, stories about people, set against the backdrop of war. During the bitter and protracted Mozambican civil war there are many such stories, but none so courageous nor so passionate and beautiful as that told in The Train of Salt and Sugar.Mozambique, after many years of war, first for their independence against the Portuguese and then against each other during the civil war, was left a desolate wasteland; with little or no infrastructure and a starving population. Trains seldom ran, the tracks had been sabotaged and the probability of enemy attacks was very real. Yet on a misty morning in the town of Nampula, in northern Mozambique, a convoy of three trains, loaded with supplies, three garrisons of soldiers and over 600 passengers left relative safety, destined for Cuamba, a town 341kilometers to the west, bordering Malawi. The book takes its title from a woman, Mariamu, who plans to trade her supply of salt, a rare commodity, for sugar, an even rarer commodity, in Malawi, thus enabling her to feed her children in the coming year. The harrowing journey is as colorful as its passengers-civilians and soldiers alike. A fragile love is born amid the death-between a young nurse returning home and a soldier who's tasked with protecting her. A despicable officer whose behaviors repulses; insightful railwaymen and an unseen enemy whose numerous and varied attacks leave the passengers terrified, exhausted and dying of thirst-these are the protagonists. |

Night Train: Stories $3.95 What does it mean to be a "fully processed" Indian in America today? In Night Train, Lise Erdrich offers a sharp-humored and powerful primer. Largely set in the small towns and reservations of northwestern Minnesota and western North Dakota, her literary snapshots capture the characters' lives playing out against a backdrop of emergency rooms, supermarket aisles, backwoods parties, family breakfast tables, booze-soaked taverns, and sterile, but emotionally fraught offices. Taken at the very moment when the pressures of daily life collide with the insidiousness of history, these stories reveal the personal struggle and small triumphs of people facing the absurdities of bureaucracy, cycles of poverty and addiction, and out-sized notions of Indian legends and culture. It takes love, fortitude, and no small amount of humor to survive the sun-starved winters of the Great Plains, where finding reasons to keep going (and keep growing) can be the most profound accomplishment. Erdrich's flashbulb-quick stories provide it all in cathartic doses and within the many voices of her tales, all the crazy starts to make sense. Lise Erdrich has worked in the fields of Indian health and education since the 1980s and is currently a school health officer at the Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Her stories have received a number of awards, including the Minnesota Monthly Tamarack Award, the Many Mountains Moving Flash Fiction Contest, and Best of Show at the North Dakota State Fair. Night Train is her highly anticipated first collection. |
